Tasty Tuesday | Repeat Dinner

Another week - another Tasty Tuesday post!

breakfast, banana bread, food diary, peanut butter toast, kefir, what I ate, healthy, eating

I finally made banana bread yesterday!  I kept putting it off and ended up having so many overripe bananas that I was able to make two loaves.  I stuck one in the freezer for later.  I toasted a couple of slices of it this morning and slapped some peanut butter on there.  I also had some raspberry flavored kefir.

lunch, sandwich, kale, healthy eating, apple, food diary, water

For lunch I had a hummus and cheese sandwich with a giant amount of kale stuffed inside.  I also had an apple and some water.

snack, sun chips, harvest cheddar, salty, food diary

Like I said in my 23 Week Pregnancy Update, I've been craving salty things lately.  So for my afternoon snack I had some Sun Chips in the Harvest Cheddar flavor.  I was actually pretty hungry but I didn't want to eat too much because we were planning to eat dinner a little earlier than the usual 9:30/10pm!

dinner, stir fry, rice noodles, chicken, food diary, what I ate

We had the same dinner that we had for Tasty Tuesday last week!  That wasn't on purpose, it's just that we still had celery to use up and we had a lot of cashews leftover.  This also has carrots, red pepper, garlic and onions along with chicken and rice noodles.  The sauce was Kung Pao sauce, soy sauce and rice wine vinegar.  It's really yummy!

dessert, what I ate, ice cream, mint moose tracks, treats, food diary

I had some really yummy ice cream for dessert.  This is Mint Moose Tracks and I had never heard of this flavor before.  Moose Tracks is vanilla ice cream with fudge and peanut butter cups but this is mint ice cream with fudge and mint chocolate cups.  Seriously, it is so delicious!

23 Week Pregnancy Update

pregnancy, pregnant, baby bump, bump update, second trimester, 6 months pregnant, belly, first baby, mom to be

How far along? 23 weeks 6 days (the pictures are 23 and 4)
Total weight gain/measurements: About 10 pounds up. My belly is 35.5” at the biggest point. It seems to be holding pretty steady in terms of how big around I am but it's getting bigger all over, if that makes sense. My uterus is rising so the upper part of my stomach area is getting wider now, too...I guess that's where my natural waist is/was.
Maternity clothes: I did get a couple of things this weekend. I got a maternity t-shirt from Target (I'm wearing it in the pictures) and a pair of maternity shorts. I also have moved up a bra size...AGAIN.
Stretch marks: None.
Sleep: My sleep at night has been better this week.
Best moment this week: I bought one baby thing this week. It's the first thing I've bought. I'm very paranoid and superstitious (anyway and my previous miscarriage probably makes this worse) so I've been really afraid to get anything. I still feel like it's a little early but I decided to just get one thing.
Miss anything? Being able to roll over in bed. I feel like I have to do a 3-point turn to get out of bed. I also have been really really missing my old boobs this week. I just can't even deal with how big they are now and I know they are only going to get bigger.
Movement: I've been feeling lots of movement.

pregnancy, pregnant, baby bump, bump update, second trimester, 6 months pregnant, belly, first baby, mom to be

Food Cravings: Salty things
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really. I did feel pretty crummy Sunday night after eating a bunch of Easter dessert. I could just tell I'd had way too much sugar and it made me feel horrible.
Gender: We don't know. One of my parents is convinced it is a girl. Of course my other parent had a dream it was a boy. I think as I get towards the end people are going to start looking for more clues. Just so you know, I'm refusing to tell anyone the baby's heart rate after any of my midwife appointments. Ha ha! :)
Labor signs: None.
Symptoms: My boobs are sore again! Not anything like the first trimester but it's kind of an all over soreness which I think is because they've been growing more again. My belly has also been very itchy and the stretching has felt almost like stinging. I've also noticed stretching pain in my hips and my back gets sore at the end of the day. I already have some issues with an old knee injury so that knee and the hip on that side has been bothering me more than the other, but that's completely expected and is obviously normal and unavoidable for me.
Belly button in or out? In...for now! It does look really different now.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Oh boy, so emotional this week! It's not that I'm unhappy. I'm actually totally happy. But I feel like everything is starting to pile up and I'm feeling overwhelmed and getting stressed even more easily than normal. Add in the fact that we're still in this rough early Spring season and that we just had Easter and holidays are always really stressful for me... I haven't had a day when I didn't burst into tears at least once in the whole last week.
Looking forward to: Viability.

Birchbox | March 2016

beauty, Birchbox, subscription beauty box, products, samples

It's Birchbox Time!  I realized that the reason I really love my Birchbox subscription because it allows me some variety in the products I use and it costs less than the full size of just one of most of the products.  I'm not trying to convince anyone but I really do like being able to sample all of these products that honestly, I would probably never buy.  If you happen to work for Birchbox and you also happen to be reading this (yeah, right) then don't worry, you're business plan still does work on me!  I have actually loved some things so much that I've bought the full size and there are a few more that I'm seriously considering for my next purchase.  :)

beauty, Birchbox, subscription beauty box, products, samples

This month I got a nice mix of hair and beauty products.  I'm exciting to try out the Curl Keeper by Curly Hair Solutions as I'm positive with all of this extra hair hanging around on my pregnant head I will be an even more gigantic ball of frizz this summer than I normally am.  Before that frizz sets in I will be trying out these PARLOR by Jeff Chastain shampoo and conditioner samples.  I don't know if I'm struggling very much in the volume department but I wouldn't mind a little extra texture help with hold after using my curling iron.

beauty, Birchbox, subscription beauty box, products, samples

Every product that I've tried from Supergoop! has been excellent so I am assuming that the City Sunscreen Serum is no different.  The Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm is basically just
a lip balm.  It has a very thick consistency, kind of like Vaseline, and there is no scent or color so you can use it to keep your brows in place or to moisturize your cuticles.

beauty, Birchbox, subscription beauty box, products, samples

The product I'm most excited about is the trèStique Color & Smudge Shadow Crayon.  The color is called Aspen Pine and it is so beautiful.  (I'm biased because I am literally obsessed with any and all shades of green.)  It is a super dark and smokey forest green color with a faint hint of gold shimmer to it.  It is SO creamy and slides right on with no effort.  It also smudges really nicely.  I still have the swatch on my hand as I'm typing this and I keep looking at it thinking "oooh I can't wait to wear that!"  Ha ha ha!

Check out my initial reactions to seeing these products in my latest unboxing video.

Tasty Tuesday | Meal Planning Newbies

Happy #TastyTuesday!  I decided to try meal planning this week in order to combat food waste, get some nutritional variety and maybe save a little money.  I spent a good chunk of time with Steve going through the fridge and cabinets figuring out what we could make with what we had and then what we would need to shop for to finish the meals.  I started with dinners for a week and then I planned out possible breakfasts and lunches for myself (Steve eats leftovers at work so that was covered).  I even included a list of all of the things we have available for snacks and desserts.

Tasty Tuesday, breakfast, toast, topping, peanut butter, strawberries, berries, healthy, eating, food, meal planning, organization, home, home making, adulting

First of all this made it so I didn't need to buy any snacks or desserts when I went grocery shopping because I had just been able to see what I already had in the house.  Our grocery bill ended up being $107!  That does include a 2 pack of scrubby sponges, but everything else was food.  Of course we did get some things that will last longer than a week but that's so low for us!  I will say that over time, I'm guessing the savings would lessen because right now we have a lot of meat in the freezer and a bunch of cans of soup and extra boxes of pasta.  As we eat through the stuff in the cupboards we'll need to actually replace it at some point.  But it's an interesting experiment.

So far I've switched my plan for breakfast once and then today I realized that we forgot to consult the list so I never defrosted what I'm planning to make tonight.  A lack of timely defrosting is our biggest downfall.  But overall it's been pretty helpful.  I think the key is to make it a habit.  We need to practice the planning, actually bother to go to the grocery store every week, and then follow the plan.

What I Ate Today: Very Thirsty

Do you do meal planning?  How often do you shop?

22 Week Pregnancy Update

pregnancy, pregnant, bump, baby bump, 22 weeks pregnant, first time mom, second trimester

How far along? 22 weeks
Total weight gain/measurements: I gained 7 lbs since my last appointment so that is 10 total! At my appointment with the midwife this morning she measured my uterus and it was about 23cm, which is right on track. She said that they start measuring that way from now on at all of the appointments.
Maternity clothes: I sort of assumed that it would be warm by the time I was only into maternity clothes but the first day of Spring was yesterday and then we promptly got 5 or 6 inches of snow overnight. It's not unheard of, this is New England after all and the weather is all over the place here, but hopefully that was the end of it because I didn't really buy winter-appropriate maternity clothes. I've been wearing the same few things over and over again waiting for warmer weather.
Stretch marks: None yet. I keep obsessively checking around all of my scars. My skin is a little uncomfortable near my appendix scar but it still looks good. I also have a scar on the side of my ribs near my continuously expanding bust-line but it still looks OK, too. I know I could get stretchmarks elsewhere anyway but I feel like if I get them I will at least get them in those places that can't stretch as easily so I've been looking there first. Ha ha
Sleep: A little better this week than it had been but I can't make it more than 4 hours at a time without a trip to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: We decided on a color scheme for the baby's eventual bedroom! I'm planning on keeping the baby in our room in a co-sleeper for as long as makes sense so I thought I'd just wait until the Fall to even think about what to do with the nursery. But then I changed my mind and wanted to have a plan ready. So it's going to be gray, yellow and white...but more like cheery and bright with some gray in it as the neutral color. I think that's cute for a baby, whether it is a girl or a boy. :)

pregnancy, pregnant, bump, baby bump, 22 weeks pregnant, first time mom, second trimester

Miss anything? Nope. Pregnancy has many annoying and difficult parts but overall I do like it. I'm not saying that it makes up for anything that I might miss, I'm just saying that I'm enjoying it as it is so I'm not really thinking about anything else at the moment.
Movement: YES! This morning I could feel it on both sides of my belly at once and I told the midwife and she laughed and said that sounds like the splits! Ha ha ha!
Food Cravings: I've been wanting a lot more vegetables this week. I'm still eating a ton of fruit and plenty of carbs. I think my poor body is like, OMG When is it spring and when will the veggies be back in season and actually taste good around here?! (Soon, Body. Soon.)
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing this week.
Gender: Don't know.
Labor signs: None.
Symptoms: Nothing new this week.
Belly button in or out? In...but it's gotten kind of sensitive. I think it's much more shallow than normal so the edges are stretched and my shirt feels a little annoying over it. My normal skin is pretty itchy anyway so it's just worse with all the stretching. But it's not overwhelming, just a little more than usual.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: The snow melting! :)

Here is the video that went up on my main channel.  It's all about my Pregnancy Skincare Routine.

Maternity Style | Cute Maternity Dress from PinkBlush Maternity

PinkBlush Maternity, cute maternity clothes, trendy maternity clothes, maternity dresses, maternity clothes

Disclosure Statement: This post is in collaboration with PinkBlush Maternity. They gifted me with an item of clothing in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I have been keeping my eye on the PinkBlush Maternity website as I wait for the weather to change and my belly to grow. Even a casual glance will show that they have some really cute maternity clothes. I took it as a lesson in positive thinking when PinkBlush reached out to me asking if I'd like to feature them on my blog. Pregnancy is so short that it can be difficult to figure out where to shop. Hopefully this review will help any of you out there who are like me and get a little nervous when shopping online from a retailer that is new to you.

If you've been following along during the last few months, you'll know what a pain it's been trying to find maternity clothing that both fits well and that I like. Keeping in mind that it will be spring and summer soon, I looked through the dress options. I chose the Navy Blue Open Lace Overlay Bell Sleeve Maternity Dress and I'm happy to report that not only is it true to size, it is everything I was looking for. I wanted something comfortable but pretty enough to wear to a nicer occasion (like a wedding or my baby shower) and it needed to be something I wouldn't be too hot in as I would like to get some use out of it over the next few months. The lace gives this dress an interesting texture and the open bell sleeves are the perfect length.

PinkBlush doesn't only carry maternity dresses. Check out their huge selection of tops and bottoms which all range from dressy to super casual – they even have active wear and hospital robes. Another thing to keep in mind is that PinkBlush carries more than just trendy maternity clothes. They also have a women's range for those of you who are not currently pregnant as well as nursing wear, baby items and accessories.

In these pictures I kept things simple by styling the dress simply with gold flats but boots and sandals work just as well for a different vibe. It could also be dressed up with a bold necklace.

I will say that this dress in particular has a lot of fabric going on. My assumption prior to trying it on was that it would be really pretty near the end of my pregnancy once I had a huge bump to support it's shape. Once I put it on I realized that it doesn't disguise my 21 week belly as much as I thought it would. Then I got the bright idea to belt it and I was pleasantly surprised that it works! The fabric drapes nicely out from under the belt eliminating the feeling that I'm swimming in it.

Have you ever bought anything from PinkBlush Maternity? What did you think? I'd love to know as I will probably be heading back over to their website soon to place my own order for some more summer clothes!

As always,

Current Favorites | Winter 2016

beauty, fashion, style, food, book, lifestyle

I haven't been overly into much of anything other than my pregnancy recently, which is fun for me, but probably not quite as entertaining for everyone else... I know this because as much as I love babies and peeking into other people's lives, I'm obviously not that invested in them as they are.  ANYWAY: I do have some favorites from the last couple of months and I thought I'd share! Enjoy! :)

Everyone seems to be wearing pink in the fashion and beauty world right now (it is one of the Pantone colors of the year).  I have not only jumped on the bandwagon but I'm pretty much driving it for this trend!

beauty, cosmetics, makeup, blush, eye shadow, Coastal Scents, theBalm Cosmetics, Frat Boy, Rimmel by Kate, lipstick, nude lip

theBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Shadow/Blush:  This sample came in a Birchbox and I wasn't sure if I would like it because it is a little more warm toned than I typically go for in a blush.  But once I tried it I became obsessed.  It is so pretty and it goes on so nicely.  It is definitely worth purchasing the full size!

Coastal Scents formalEYES Shadow Palette:  Here is another Birchbox sample size.  The formalEYES eye shadow palette seems to be a Coastal Scents/Birchbox exclusive and it has more than just these two colors.  But these shadows are GREAT!  They are smooth, pigmented and they go on nicely and blend well.  The lighter color is matte and the darker pink color has a light shimmer to it.  I've been wearing these colors so much over the past couple of months, sometimes by themselves and sometimes mixed with various shadows from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Rimmel by Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick - No. 08:  Just about every time I've worn lipstick since January it's been this one.  I'm not sure if I would say it's a darker nude...maybe I'll call it a medium nude on me.  It's super creamy and wears off nicely and I can't get enough.

fashion, style, cape, poncho, knits, black and white, monochrome, winter fashion, outerwear, cozy, maternity

I have shown this before in my 17 Week Pregnancy Update, and honestly there is nicer photo over on that post that I've got here.  But I have been wearing this non-stop.  I bought it this season at Target (it is not maternity, fyi) and it is so warm!  I love the black and white pattern and I like that it does connect to makes sleeves instead of just being open like a big scarf.  I have been wearing it in the house for now because it's much too cold to go out without a real coat in the winter here but I'm looking forward to slightly warmer weather so I can wear it outside as an outer layer.  The sleeves are a good length to make it work with a tee or tank top as well.

Brain & Body:

The Book of Unknown Americans, Cristina Henriquez, Stonyfield, yogurt, book, dairy

The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henríquez
I have done a lot of reading this winter and I think that this was my favorite of all of the book I got through.  It's thought provoking and emotional and it sheds a light on the some of the lives of immigrants living in the United States who have come from various Spanish speaking countries.  It mostly follows one family but each chapter jumps around to the perspective of different people who live in their community in the same apartment building in Delaware.  I highly recommend this one.

The book fed my brain and now let's talk about what I've been feeding my body with lately.  I am always on the hunt for full fat yogurt at the grocery store.  It is so hard to find!  The kind I normally eat is a plain Greek yogurt but I haven't been into that since being pregnant.  My taste buds seem to be looking for something a little sweeter.  SO even though flavored yogurt has lots of sugar I'm eating it because it's still yogurt, which is good for you.  This is French Vanilla flavored and it's rich and creamy.  I have been loading it up with tons of fruit and berries and eating it whenever I can.
***a note on fat: I am not a nutrition expert but I do know that foods that come naturally with fat are not the enemy.  I feel that it is better to get your fat intake from good sources of fat and just not eat it all day long (duh) and then maybe try to avoid the things that are bad fat if you're worried about it.  Plus it tastes better. :)

So there you have it, folks.  If you want to watch the video I'll leave that here for you.  I am wearing all of the makeup items that I mentioned here in the video so you can get an idea of what they look like on (at least on my face, anyway).

Tasty Tuesday | Second Trimester Snacking

I've got an old school Tasty Tuesday post for you today!  I got distracted working on making a baby registry last night so I completely forgot to write this post and edit the video I made for it so I'm getting it all up today, even though it's Wednesday.  Ha ha! Oh Well!

breakfast, oatmeal, coffee, tasty tuesday, what i ate

Banana Oatmeal!
Heat 2/3 C. almond milk
Add in: 1/4 C. oats, scoop of ground flax seed, raisins, mashed banana, chopped walnuts
Add a little more almond milk to the oatmeal in the bowl and top with cinnamon

lunch, tasty tuesday, what i ate, sandwich, healthy, water, kale

Vegetarian Sandwich: hummus, cheddar cheese, avocado, kale
This was my 3rd glass of water for the day

rice cake, peanut butter, jelly, pb and j, snacks, tasty tuesday, what i ate

Fig Newtons, tea, water, snacks, cookies, tasty tuesday, what i ate

I've been getting really hungry lately.  I honestly don't think I've ever been hungrier in my life except for when I was a growing teenager who was also a long distance runner.  So if you were wondering how much work a pregnant woman is doing to grow a baby 24/7 it is similar to combining puberty with 11 mile runs.  Anyway, I had some PB & J on a rice cake right after lunch and later in the afternoon I plowed through 8 Fig Newtons along with a cup of Raspberry Leaf tea and a couple more glasses of water.

pasta, sausage, vegetables, veggie sauce, water, supper, dinner, bowl, tasty tuesday, what i ate

I had a huge bowl of this pasta dish.  We had about a half a jar of sauce left so we filled it out with tomatoes, red peppers, asparagus, onions and garlic.  Then we added some chopped up chicken sausage and topped it off with Parmesan cheese.

Stonyfield, yogurt, raspberry, dessert, snacks, healthy, tasty tuesday, what I ate

I was pretty full after all of that pasta so I just had a yogurt before bed and called it a night.

21 Week Pregnancy Update

pregnancy, 21 weeks pregnant, baby bump, second trimester, first pregnancy

How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/measurements: Last week I said 35” because it was just a hair under that. I would say that it is still 35” but it seems to be a smidge over this week.
Maternity clothes: A mix of maternity and non-maternity still. Check back throughout the week for a few outfit posts that I've got coming up! :)
Stretch marks: Still none.
Sleep: I think I've only gotten one good night's sleep in the last week. I've been having a really hard time shutting off my brain in the middle of the night. I keep thinking about all of the annoying things that everyone does all the time and then I get more annoyed because all of those people are most likely sleeping peacefully in their cozy beds and I'm losing my mind at 3:30am! I realized today that it's extra annoying because once I have the actual baby in front of me I'll probably be up a lot in the middle of the night but at least there will be something to do then! Ha ha!

pregnancy, 21 weeks pregnant, baby bump, second trimester, first pregnancy

Best moment this week: Steve felt the baby move!
Miss anything? 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Movement: I'm still feeling a mix of big and little movements but I'm now feeling them at some point every day.
Food Cravings: Nothing specific.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not at the moment – it's awesome!
Gender: Don't know.
Labor signs: None.
Symptoms: I guess pregnancy is causing the insomnia?? It's because I wake up for the bathroom and then I can't get back to sleep. So I'd call that a symptom.  ALSO, I have really been noticing that my hair is super thick (to the point of being a little stressful) and my nails are finally all nice and hard and the same length.  I had a few really damaged nails that I've been waiting for pregnancy to help and they've finally grown out enough to be pretty again!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Grouchy and sleep deprived.
Looking forward to: It's almost officially Spring!!! :)

Maternity Style: Sweater & Jeans

black sweater, skinny jeans, maternity fashion, ootd, outfit, gold accessories, Alice Manfrida, blogger, second trimester, 20 weeks pregnant

How cute is this outfit? I love it so much! I said in my 20 Week Pregnancy Update the other day that it's getting more and more difficult to wear my non-maternity tops. I still have some in the rotation but I'm really beginning to rely on the dedicated maternity tops. It was bound to happen sometime!

black sweater, skinny jeans, maternity fashion, ootd, outfit, gold accessories, Alice Manfrida, blogger, second trimester, 20 weeks pregnant

The sweater is the Maternity Shine Pullover Sweater from the Liz Lange Maternity line for Target and it was actually the first official maternity clothing that I bought. I figured that it would work as a transition piece between the coldest days of winter and the warm/chilly back and forth thing that comes with Spring in New England. It doesn't really show in the pictures but it does have a very slight sparkle running through it so it picks up the light and looks really pretty. I love the long slouchy sleeves and the baseball jersey shoulder style.

black sweater, skinny jeans, maternity fashion, ootd, outfit, gold accessories, Alice Manfrida, blogger, second trimester, 20 weeks pregnant

In my epic quest to find some skinny jeans that actually fit my legs, I did find this pair of dark skinnies from Destination Maternity. The brand is Indigo Blue and they are the slimmest fit of all the jeans I found. It's so annoying how difficult it is to find maternity pants that work. There is no consistency in sizing or fit (shape), even within the same brand. You have to try them ALL on.

black sweater, skinny jeans, maternity fashion, ootd, outfit, gold accessories, Alice Manfrida, blogger, second trimester, 20 weeks pregnant

Since the day I wore this outfit was still a little chilly I wore socks under these booties from Call It Spring. They are the American Eagle brand, which I have always had great luck with, and I bought them a year ago. The strap on the side is my favorite part because you can keep it straight across or you can adjust the snaps to let it hang down, like I did here, for a more casual look.

black shoes, ankle boots, skinny jeans, maternity fashion, ootd, outfit, Alice Manfrida, blogger, second trimester, 20 weeks pregnant

The boots have dull gold accents so I kept my accessories gold but I kept them bright. I can't remember where I got my earrings but they are cube shaped studs. My necklace was a Valentine's present from Steve. It is the Taurus Zodiac Necklace from the Anna Saccone jewellery line. Mine is on the medium length chain in gold. I think a longer necklace looks really good with this long sweater.

Alice Manfrida, black sweater, gold accessories, 20 weeks pregnant

There is a quick little OOTD video up on my main YouTube channel if you want to see this outfit in action...haha well, me wearing it and moving around anyway. It shows the detail on the sweater a little better than the still pictures do. :)

Thanks for watching!

Tasty Tuesday | The Lower Depths

pretzel, lunch, restaurant, Boston, what I ate, food

These pictures are from lunch on Sunday.  We had gone out to brunch with friends in the morning and then when we were heading home it was so sunny out that I could not bear the thought of going home and wasting the good day.  We ended up heading to Kenmore Square to hang around.  We spent a while wandering around in the bookstore and then we headed over to The Lower Depths for lunch.

grilled cheese, salad, lunch, restaurant, Boston, what I ate, food

One of the reasons I love this place so much is that they have a tater tot section on their menu.  They also have a good beer selection, if you are not pregnant like me.  :)  We split a pretzel with mustard and then I got the Grown Up Grilled Cheese, which was a special for the day.  It was made with grape jelly in the middle.  It was a little sticky and I know it sounds weird but I swear it was so delicious!

If you haven't seen it already, check out the most recent vlog over on ManfridaTV to see what else we got up to during the weekend!

20 Week Pregnancy Update

pregnant, 20 weeks, pregnancy, maternity style, baby bump, second trimester, halfway

How far along? 20 Weeks... a.k.a. HALFWAY (probably)
Total weight gain/measurements: I'll have to wait a couple more weeks to see what my weight is when I see my midwife next. But, I did measure my belly today! This information is borderline useless at this point because it's the first time I've done it but whatever. The biggest part of my belly is 35 inches. Maybe I'll keep up with this now since the second half of pregnancy has the most growth.
Maternity clothes: I have hit the limit on a lot of my non-pregnancy tops now. Over the weekend I went through my closet and moved everything that I can't wear over to one side and left everything I know I can wear or at least think I could wear if the weather gets warm soon. I already separated everything in my drawers and it's so much easier to get dressed now that I don't have to even look at the stuff that doesn't work.
Stretch marks: None yet.
Sleep: The same at night. This week I've noticed I've started feeling a little more tired during the day again. It's nothing like the unquenchable fatigue of the first trimester but I can tell I'm lugging around this heavy belly and it's wiping me out so I've been trying to take at least a short nap on most days.

pregnant, 20 weeks, pregnancy, maternity style, baby bump, second trimester, halfway

Best moment this week: Every time I feel the baby move! :)
Miss anything? Nope.
Movement: I have been feeling small movements since 14 or 15 weeks but now I'm definitely feeling bigger, more obvious movement. They are mostly still light movements but I'm feeling them every day now and the best part is that some of them are big kicks or pokes. It feels like tiny doll limbs wiggling around in there! :)
Food Cravings: Um, food. Seriously, the theme of week 20 has been “Feed me!”
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not really but I had some chicken the other day that I couldn't eat. I had two bites and I had to quit. Steve said he thought the texture was a little strange and maybe it was a little old but he ate plenty of it and neither of us got sick from it so it was probably fine. But after those two bites there was no way I could force myself to eat any more of it.
Gender: We don't know. I had been going back and forth in my mind about what I think it is. Now I'm kind of stuck on one possibility, which was my original thought at the beginning. Ha ha...that's cryptic but I don't actually know, of course, so I'm not saying what I think!!
Labor signs: Nope.

pregnant, 20 weeks, pregnancy, maternity style, baby bump, second trimester, halfway

Symptoms: My abdominal muscles are protesting pretty much constantly. I also think I've got a hemorrhoid going on, which is so not cool. It's not that bad actually and witch hazel has been making it feel better but I've been guzzling water and I'm basically 95% made of fiber by now to help keep things moving through as painlessly as possible. Listen, so far I'm happy to report that pregnancy actually hasn't been the worst thing that's ever happened to me in terms of bodily embarrassments but it's definitely getting there.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: In spite of being sore and stuffed...happy. It legit is the coolest thing to feel tiny body parts bumping around and it's super reassuring. I also am trying to be conscious of how “good” I feel right now because I am aware that a LOT more will happen in the next few months.
Looking forward to: Spring weather! It is supposed get up to be about 70° on Wednesday and I can't wait!
