Tasty Tuesday: Not Feeling Well

How about an old school What I Ate Today post for #TastyTuesday over here?!  I haven't been feeling well for the past few days so I thought I should step up my game and make sure that I am eating well to try to help this cold move it along and get out of my body.

For My Sore Throat and Stuffy Nose:

I started the day with a cup of green tea.

When I got around to breakfast I had two farm fresh eggs scrambled in olive oil and salt along with some rye crackers and an avocado.  I added a little Parmesan cheese because...cheese.

Lunch was lobster bisque, a piece of sprouted grain bread with some butter and a glass of water.  The butter looks crazy because I've been keeping it in the fridge lately so that it doesn't melt in the cabinet and it's impossible to spread cold butter on soft bread.

Afternoon Snack:

I had another cup of green tea with these cookies that have a lemon creme filling inside.  I also had a few more glasses of water during the day.

A Manfrida weeknight staple: pasta sauce, ground beef and onions on top of pasta with Parmesan cheese.  I topped that off with a couple more glasses of water and called it a night.

Collective Beauty Haul

CeraVe, Lush, Rimmel, skin care, bath bomb, bath, lipstick

Happy Tuesday!  I think it's time for a good old fashioned beauty haul on this blog.  I had a couple of trips to the drugstore and a trip to Lush (hello, birthday giftcards!) in the past few weeks so I have a little bit of a grab bag of products to show you.  I got some new skincare products to try, a couple of lipsticks (can't stop, won't stop) and a bunch of bath bombs!  If that sounds good to you, then keep reading.  :)

First up is skincare.  My sister mentioned that she was using some products from the brand CeraVe and since I am almost out of my current cleanser I thought I'd try it, too.  When I went to the store there happened to be a sale on CeraVe products so I ended up buying four products, basically for the price of three.  I'm taking that as a sign.

Hydrating Cleanser, Eye Repair Cream, Facial Moisturizing Lotion, CeraVe, skin care, cleanser, moisturizer, skin care routine

I bought the Hydrating Cleanser and the Facial Moisturizing Lotion (both AM and PM versions) which are all for normal to dry skin.  I also bought the Eye Repair Cream.  The AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion has SPF 30 in it and all of the products contain ceramides and hyaluronic acid.  As I am no skincare expert I can't say with any certainty what these ingredients really do for you (to you?) but the packaging claims that ceramides repair and maintain the skin's natural barrier in order to prevent water loss and that hyaluronic acid attracts moisture to the skin.  The lotions and cream also contain something called niacinamide which seems to do a bunch of things including reducing redness, which I could definitely use.

My next drugstore trip was not intended to be for makeup but alas, I bought two new lipsticks.  No they are not the same as the rest of the "my lips but better" lipsticks that may or may not look very similar to these two.  Ha ha!  I love Rimmel's Moisture Renew formula (purple tube) because it is so creamy and this color is a pinkish nude with some serious shimmer to it, which I've been doing a lot of lately.  The other one is the Rimmel by Kate Lasting Finish and it is a little rosier than the first and has less shimmer.  I've worn this one quite a bit since purchasing it.

Finally, I took a trip to Lush with my mom where I used some of my birthday giftcard money to buy a bunch of bathbombs.  (Thanks, family!)  The only one of these that I've used before is the little one, which is the Butterball bomb.  That one smells like vanilla and has cocoa butter in it so it's super moisturizing.  The swirly one has some bubble bar pieces in the outer pink ring so it should melt into a frothy bath.  The blueish one smells earthy and fruity and the one that looks like a firework has sea salt and smells heavily floral.  I don't usually go for floral scents but I thought I'd try something new.

Thanks so much for reading!

P.S. Have you ever tried any products from the CeraVe skincare line?  Let me know in the comments below.  My sister and I are both trying them but haven't been for very long and I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts.  Thanks! :)
