Finding Your Tribe - Creativity

Last week the university I got my graduate degree from held a week long creativity series.  There were a bunch of speakers and activities that all focused around the theme.  I ended up being able to go to a panel of five people who all work in completely different fields (music, art, education, science and radio).  After that night I felt really good about my decision to leave teaching a few years ago and my brain has been swirling with ideas and motivation to pursue some big projects that I've been working on for a while.  It's becoming an internet cliche to talk about the importance of seeking out your tribe but I'll say that I really think it's important to find people who are on the same path (or parallel paths) as you are and engage with them in some way.

Since I had the day off prior to heading out for the night I had lots and lots of time to pick out an outfit and paint my face so that's what I did.

Manicure Monday: Easter!

Yesterday we celebrated Easter.  We colored eggs on Saturday night and then visited family on Sunday.  I usually try to dress up for holidays but I just wasn't feeling it this weekend so I wore jeans with a cardigan.  When my sister saw me she said, "Oh good, I'm glad we're on the same page."  She wore jeans and a cardigan, too!  Ha ha! :)

On my nails I went with one of my favorite nude polishes.  You all know I'm a huge Sally Hansen fangirl and I love their quick dry formula.  On my left hand I painted these two fingers with a neon pink from L. A. Colors and on my right hand I put the pink just on my ring finger.  As usual I used the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Hardener on top and bottom so keep everything intact for a little longer.

Drugstore Empties [April 2015]

Isn't it the worst when you run out of everything at the same time?!  I ran out of most of my basics within the span of a couple of weeks so I thought I'd hold on to the packaging for a little while for an Empties post.  These are the things that I make sure to buy a new one before I actually run out of the old one because I use most of them every single day.  Nothing too fancy here.  All of them are from the drugstore.

These are my makeup empties...well, one is an actual makeup item and the rest are removers.  The oil-free eye makeup remover from Neutrogena is very gentle and takes waterproof mascara off like a dream.  I got this little sample pack of Simple cleansing facial wipes included in a box of moisturizer and they were great so I bought a full sized pack of them when these ran out.  I always buy the store brand for nail polish remover because I go through it so quickly that I don't think it's worth it to pay more.  The makeup item is my favorite everyday lip liner.  It is the Revlon ColorStay lip liner in the color Blush.

DENTAL HYGIENE!  I've been using the Colgate Total Whitening toothpaste forever.  I like the gel kind better than the paste kind but I'll use either.  For dental floss I like the flat waxed kind as opposed to the skinny string kind because I feel like the skinny kind hurts my gums.  And I'm all about the minty flavor.

I've been using the Secret Outlast clear gel deodorant for about a year an a half.  It dries quickly and stays totally clear.  I like the Completely Clean scent.  My conditioner is from TRESemm√© and this one is the Climate Protection kind with keratin, olive oil and UV blend.

Do you use the same products all the time or do you switch things up more often than I do?
